Spring Break

We had a wonderful Spring Break.  Nothing big planned, which was fine by us.  I would have loved warmer weather but Scarlett slept until 9 most days so I will take what I can get!

Here are our highlights, in I Phone photos!

Sometimes Lilli gets in our bed at night.  That is the rule - she has to start in her own bed but can come get in ours at any time.  This is what I woke up to on Monday morning!  Booty in my face!

We spent the morning reading to her stuffed animals and waiting for Scarlett to wake up

Once she finally did, she threw a serious fit because I put her blankies in the washer.  It was only 9:30 AM and I was starting to worry about how this week would go down!

Luckily she was reunited and happy once more.

We played lots of dress up - she loves to walk in heels

Lilli had soccer practice Tuesday.  It was 55. Only one other girl showed up and no other teams.  What can I say, Coach Jason means business.

The girls played school - which meant Scarlett ate dry erase crayons.

Many of my photos look like this because they rarely stop dancing and running and playing!

I mentioned we went to Ya Ya's Island.  Insert more blurry photos...

While Lilli was riding her bike Scarlett and I had fun swinging!

Spent lots of time in our jammies watching cartoons

By Friday it was warm enough to play outside.  This is Lilli's worm.  Scarlett had one, and I have NO idea where it ended up.  You can only imagine...

Saturday Lilli and I had two birthday parties to attend.  This one she dressed up as Aurora!

But by the evening she was OUT.  This rarely happens!

Today we went to Patti's to celebrate her 4th birthday.  Here are the girls telling Scarlett's baby doll to "shh, be quiet"

We had a good surprise for Lilli - they sang Happy Birthday and brought her a mini cheesecake with a candle!  She was so excited!

She told me it was the best celebration ever!

Mandatory matching outfit photo shoot...

She is (almost!) FOUR!

Just keepin' it real...

They had a pitiful turkey to visit.  This is Scarlett saying, "gobble gobble" - I kid you not.

Someone should really take these girls to the zoo.

And just like that, Spring Break is over!  I am really ready for summer.  The week was wonderful, the girls played together well and I am rested and ready to finish the next 6 weeks.  Lilli is not excited about going back to preschool and me going back to work, so I hope the transition goes well for her.  She doesn't like to break from routine!

Tomorrow I will post about this little girl!  I cannot believe she will be FOUR tomorrow!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

New blog name and address!

Last night I showed Jason my blog and he commented that poor Scarlett was not included in "The Lilli Pad".  I thought about what I could rename the blog that would represent both girls, our family as a whole, and my outlook on life.

My mind came to this song:

Blue Skies and Rainbows

Blue skies and rainbows and sunbeams from heaven
Are what I can see when my Lord is living in me.

Chorus:
I know that Jesus is well and alive today.
He makes His home in my heart.
Never more will I be all alone since He
Promised me that we never would part.

Green grass and flowers all blooming in springtime
Are works of the Master I live for each day.
(chorus)

Tall mountains, green valleys, the beauty that surrounds me
All make me aware of the One who made it all.
(chorus)

This is one of Lilli's favorite songs to sing.  Her precious little voice and enthusiasm get me every time.  But more importantly, this song gives me hope. Every day will not have blue skies - but with the rain comes a rainbow and a sign of better things to come.  I hope to be able to find the beauty in the things all around me and share with my readers of this blog!

Lilli gets a bicycle!

Today was a special day.  We had a few surprises for Lilli.  I am home for spring break and Jason took today off so that we could spend the day with the girls.  We didn't tell Lilli where we were heading but we went to Ya Ya's Island (a play place with bounce house and slides.)  She was so excited when we went in!  I have some pictures on my phone but each one of them was blurry because the girls didn't stop for 1 second!  They both played well, going up slides on their own and dancing with other kids.

After lunch and a Hobby Lobby trip, we surprised Lilli again and took her to Toys R Us.  We let her pick out her first bike!  Her 4th birthday is Monday and the weather is finally going to be nice this weekend so I hated to not get it early.

She was so pumped to get home and ride it.  She had to try it out in the store and we could barely get her off.  She picked one that her B could ride in the back with her.  It is a 14 inch, perfect for a 4 year old.

Scarlett HAD to be in the middle of the action!
Here are some pictures from her first ride-
Notice her bunny, B, in the seat!

The helmet is a unicorn - her favorite animal.

This is her yelling "Poooookeeeerrr" for Cooper to come home

No editing - her eyes are that blue!

Such a fun day!

Easter 2013

It feels like we have been celebrating Easter for a month now, which is fine by me!  I love spring and all the things that come with it.  I do wish the weather would warm up but until then I will stay inside and eat chocolate bunnies.

We first visited the Easter bunny at the mall.  Poor Scarlett had a swollen, busted lip from the night before but neither cried so I called it a success!  My mom made their matching outfits.

We visited some friends who have baby goats, the girls loved it!

We could have just kept this one - he fell asleep in Jason's arms!

Random photo - Scarlett loves to give kisses these days

We had an indoor egg hunt at church last week.  Lilli loved the bunny, as usual.

 Scarlett...not so much!

But both loved the hunt...

That night we celebrated Granny Margaret's 84th birthday with a bowling party!  This was Lilli's first time to bowl and she loved it.  She got mostly gutter balls but once knocked down 4 pins.  She was so proud!

Scarlett also did great, she loved climbing in and out of the chairs and just socializing.

Then yesterday we had an egg hunt at the Stilley House.  We go there about once a week so the girls act like they own the place!

She stopped each time to see what was inside and then eat it!

No tears!

On Easter morning the girls opened baskets.  Lilli woke first and told me she wanted what Scarlett had in her basket (a Minnie Mouse figurine).  Ay yi yi! We talked about being thankful for what you have and sharing - which the girls did a great job of later.  One of these days the Easter Bunny will learn to just get them the exact same thing!

My beautiful girl!

My attempt to get a picture of the two of them - look how mad S is!  She ripped that hat right off.  I love Lilli in the background looking perfect!

Happy Easter from our family!!
