Scarlett is TWO!

Scarlett Jean turned two last week!  I cannot believe I no longer have a baby.  Or a toddler.  I have a preschooler. I'm not sure I am ok with this.  Nevertheless, time will not stand still!

At two years old, Scarlett:
*weighs 26 pounds, 8 ounces (40th percentile)

*is 34 3/4 inches tall (75th percentile) - she is projected to be about 5'7" when she grows up

*has blond curls and blue eyes.  She gets both from Jason and his mom, Andi

*wears 2T clothes, size 5 diapers and size 6 or 7 shoes

*sleeps with her paci, Pooh bear, blankie and has to have all 3 of them together
*goes to bed around 8:00 and sleeps 12 hours.  My horrible infant sleeper is now an excellent big girl sleeper, thank the Lord!

*takes a 2-3 hour nap daily.  She loves to hang out in her crib and talk to herself for a long time after she wakes, so I never know how long she is actually sleeping.  She usually wakes up happy.
*speaks clearly and easily, her vocabulary is huge but the things we hear the most are: "hold you", "I'm so skeered", "It won't get you?", "I love you Mommy", "Pooker/Brady/Sissy come 'ere!", "I'm so tired", "I don't like it", "Excuse me, I burped".  She will repeat anything we say and it is quite hilarious.  Just last night she said, "say prayer!" before bedtime.  Warmed my heart.

*sings her ABCs, Twinkle Twinkle, Blue Skies and Rainbows, Jesus Loves Me, and anything on the radio if it repeats alot (she loves The Cup Song and Roar)
 *can count to ten

*knows most of her colors but she always gets pink and orange correct

*runs, hops, almost does a front roll

*is a random eater, still.  I just never know what she will eat at any given time. Her favorites are eggs, pancakes, waffles, CANDY, anything junk food like powdered donuts, raisins, corn, carrots, vanilla milkshakes

*is not potty trained, but always wants to try.   She will do it when she is ready so we aren't pushing it.

*loves adventure - she will climb and jump and search and destroy.  She has gotten into my makeup more times than I can count!
*is a girly girl who loves purses, shoes and accessories
*gives the best cuddles.  She especially loves to cuddle her Nana and PawPaw but sometimes Mommy and Daddy will luck out and get some.  When she is sick she wants to lay her head on my shoulder and I just love it!

*spent 5 days without Lilli and although she was lonely she was VERY well behaved.  She didn't cry or throw any tantrums, it was so good for her to be an only child for a few days and we loved spoiling her and seeing her so happy.  She loves Lilli so very much and they were precious when Lilli came home!!
*loves all her family but always talks about her Granny and Granny Margaret and her Auntie Ash

*started preschool at our church!  She cried the first week or so at drop off but since then has done really well.  She is learning so much about sharing and playing with other kids.  She is also learning her colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, lots of songs and so much about the Bible.

*went on her first preschool field trip to the Pumpkin Patch.  She had a great time, but just seemed so small compared to Lilli!

*had a fever and cold the week of her birthday but acted normally most of the time!  She was just more cuddly, which we all enjoyed!
*loves to ride in the car with the windows down!  We do this often going back and forth to the new house.
*ADORES her sister.  They are always together and the majority of the time are happy together!

I always ask Jason to write something for the girls' books.  He is so much better with words than I am.  Here is what he wrote for Scarlett's 2nd birthday:

A bouncing curl, a sprawling grin, a tender moment, a little whirlwind...  You are spunky, giggly, mischievous, gorgeous.  You amaze, confound, befuddle, endear.  Today, you are two.  You are too smart.   You are the "color" to Sissy's "comments."  You kindle the life and extinguish the dull.  You love to sing.  Blue Skies and Rainbows, ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, Jesus Loves Me...  You have a pecking order... Daddy, Mommy!, Nana!!, PawPaw!!!  You are bold, curious, determined.  You are going to put wrinkles on your Mother's face and gray in your Father's hair.  You love horsies, and gummies, and blankie.  I simply can't imagine this world without you.  You are my heart beating outside of my chest.  I love you!

Scarlett is 18 months old!

At 18 months, Scarlett:
*is 31 inches tall (she wiggled but I assume she is around 50%ile)
*weighs 24 pounds (50%ile)
*wears 24 month/2t clothes (although I squeeze her into some things that are 18 mo)
*wears size 4 diapers and size 5 shoes
*has blue eyes and curly blond hair.  Her curls are growing longer but staying tight!

*sleeps GREAT.  She goes to bed anywhere from 7:30 to 8:30 and sleeps about 12 hours straight.
She also takes good naps - one a day that can be 1.5-3 hours long.

*walks, climbs, runs, dribbles a soccer ball.  Loves to climb in and out of chairs and on steps

*had her first bloody incident - she busted her lip on our bed.  We were both covered in blood but she didn't cry long!

*TALKS!  All the time!  People are always commenting on her blond curls or the fact that she talks so much.  My favorite words and phrases that she says are, "Hold you?" "where's sissy?"  "bubbles" "k" (which is her answer to everything!) ""waffle" "paci bankie??" (those are always said together, she has to have them at the same time),  "vroom vroom" (about the vacuum cleaner), "dangerous" and "Scarwett no?" - probably because she hears these last two often!

*can count - I've heard her say 1-7 but she likes to do 6-11 over and over

*says parts of her ABCs and some of the songs that Lilli sings or that she learns in Bible class
*doesn't always love "tick tock" - sometimes we can leave her and sometimes she cries.  I think she just wants to play in the nursery!

*loves Cooper and Brady.  She loves to pet them and often asks where they are.  She calls out "Cooper, here buddy" outside and it is precious
She has her mouth and each hand full of "babas" which are baby tomatoes! I cut them up for her but she stole these from Lil!
*has a lovey - it is her Winnie the Pooh bear that Santa brought.  She also loves her two blankets and her paci.  She LOVES her paci!
Pooh goes everywhere!
*is such a spitfire.  Her temper has gotten better now that she can use words so she is less frustrated.  But she will turn on the screaming to get what she wants and turn it off as soon as she is happy again.  You cannot deny her food that someone else has.  So if it is something I don't want her to have we eat it in secret or when she is asleep!  Awful, I know!

*loves following her sister and doing everything she does.  This is why she knows so many things- she copies Lilli

*would swing all day long if we would let her.  Could care less about the trampoline, Cozy Coupe or chalk - if we are outside, she says "swing!?!" and begs to be put in it

*eats everything - but her favorites are waffles, carrots, apples, bananas, dry cereal, and anything sweet!  She eats great just like Lilli, although neither of them love meat!

*is still rear facing but hates getting in her car seat.  We are thinking of turning her soon

*is a snuggler. She loves to crawl in our laps and give hugs.  Sometimes she will come behind me and hug my leg while I am cooking.  I hope I never forget this!

*gives high fives and fist bumps, hugs and kisses

*loves her Nana but ADORES her PawPaw.  She always asks for him

Scarlett Jean,
We cannot imagine our lives without the joy that you bring.  We don't go anywhere without someone commenting on how happy, beautiful, funny and precious you are - and we agree!  Your sister is teaching you so many things and for that we are thankful.  You look up to her and miss her every minute she is away.  Your friendship is strong and your bond is unbreakable.  We are so thankful for you and want to stop time because we love this age so much!

Lillian Brooke is FOUR!

At FOUR years old, Lilli:
*weighs 40 pounds 7 ounces (80 %ile)
*is 41 inches tall (75 %ile)

*has dark blond hair and brown eyes

*wears size 5 clothing and size 10 shoes
*is potty trained, day and night.  She just started wearing big girl panties to bed but has been dry for a long time.  We struggled with accidents for a while and finally got it straightened out in January.  It was a rough period for all of us but now she goes on her own with no issue!

*Sleeps well - she goes to bed around 8:30 and wakes around 7:30.  She sometimes fights going to bed in her room and often ends up in our bed in the middle of the night.  Her nighttime routine consists of reading 2 books and Jason or I saying a prayer.

*No longer takes naps!  Boo hoo!  She has "quiet time" daily which consists of watching cartoons while on the couch.

*Eats all foods, but fruits and veggies are her favorite.   Anything colorful and healthy!  She often says "Mommy, this xyz came from God's garden!"  She loves cheese and chocolate milk, but not as much as she did last year

*loves all things Disney! She loves all the princesses but says Cinderella is her favorite

*still watches too many cartoons - her favorites are Lalaloopsy, Doc McStuffins, Sophia the First, and Imagination Movers

*plays well with her sister and by herself.  She loves her stuffed bunny lovey, B and sleeps with her every night.  She has recently started playing with Barbie dolls

*loves to paint, color, draw, etc.  She loves anything artistic and is getting better

*can write her name and knows all her letters.  She can write words if I tell her the letters or show her what to write

*is the best big sister.  She is very patient and kind to Scarlett.  She always helps me "watch" her and is around when Scarlett could get hurt (like on the bed or couch, etc)  I can tell she will always be Scarlett's best cheerleader

*plays soccer, t-ball and takes gymnastics.  She says she likes gymnastics the most

*goes to KidsFirst preschool at church 3 days a week for 3 hours.  Her teachers are Ms. Laurie, Ms. Kim, Ms. Stacey and Ms. Linda.

*says her best friends are Bella, Kasen, Elsie and Audrey Grace. She says her "boyfriend" is Jake F, not to be confused with Trent, who she is going to marry!

*has a huge vocabulary and speaks better than I do!  She uses colorful adjectives like brilliant, , magnificent, lovely; and words like apparently, disaster, and so many more I can't think of.  She has good manners and often corrects us when we don't use them! Favorite quotes, "I just love happy endings!" "This is the best day I've ever had!" "Mommy, where's my B!?" Anything in the future is "in the morning" and anything in the past is "last night".  If she is upset she will say "I just miss my Auntie Ash!"
*is still reserved/shy around adults and even other kids.  She is very slow to warm up and we've learned we can't push her, it just makes it worse

*loves her family members.  She says at least once a day that she misses Nana, PawPaw, Auntie Ash, etc.  She is very sweet and lucky!

*still talks about my Poppy and that he is in Heaven with God and Jesus (he died right before she was 2)
*is a wonderful helper.  I can give her a job (like folding washcloths) and she loves it AND does a good job!  She also can set the table, pick up her toys, and get things for me while I am with Scarlett.
*is not afraid of too many things other than being without us in public - but lately all she talks about is how she doesn't want to get her shots next time she goes to the doctor :o(
*has started saving her money in her piggy bank for our Disney World trip.  She cannot wait to go and talks about it all the time. I think she just might explode!

*enjoys eating at Mr. Gatti's, McDonalds, Cracker Barrel and "3" Little Pigs
*rides in the back of the cart when we go to Walmart and loves to help put things on the belt when we check out

*went to her first UK basketball game with PawPaw, Nana, and Auntie Ash.  She LOVED it.

*went to the beach for the first time the month after she turned 3.  The entire trip was perfect, she was so happy to be there and take it all in.  She had a few meltdowns from being over tired but I was worried since she likes her routine.  She didn't seem to mind!
*went putt putt for the first time in Florida

*loves the beach and ocean

*cares about how we are feeling and our boo-boos.  She says she wants to be a doctor and I know she has the heart for it!  And the stomach - she always wants to see blood and the actual wound!

I said this last year and I will say it again; Lilli is such an easy child.  She is genuine and sincere, happy and tender hearted.  I honestly enjoy being with her and hearing what she has to say about the world around her.  Jason and I love knowing that her world is safe and secure and we pray it stays that way.  And just like last year:
