PC Beach, Part 2

The highlights of the next day were more sand and sun

going to eat at The Boatyard, where I got a BLT (Bacon, LOBSTER and Tomato!)

and playing Putt Putt!  We weren't sure how Lilli would do, if she would get frustrated (or even try!) or lose interest.  But to our surprise, she loved it and wanted to play all 18 holes!

Scarlett even got to "play" with Daddy!

Daddy got a hole in one on the "special" hole - and even though I won the game (with TWO hole in ones!) he got a free game and didn't let me hear the end of it!

We hit up Gulf World  and saw PINK flamingos-
And little Swiper tried to eat some popcorn (and ice cream) of her sisters...
I got to see this GIANT sea turtle (and pet a sting ray!)
Not to mention all the dolphin and sea lions we saw.  Lilli enjoyed it but I preferred ZooWorld. :o)  That night we ate at Angelo's for steak.  Yum!

Just like that it was our last day, so we spent it at the beach -

At one point earlier in the week a girl game and took pictures of Lilli (for keychains and such) and Lilli did really well posing for her.  I asked her to pose for me and this is what I got:

It was finally warm enough to hit up the pool, so we did that, too!

We ate at Schooners that night and enjoyed more live music (and crab cakes, yum!)
The girls had one more time to play in the king sized bed -

Then it was time to make the LONG trip home!

I forgot to add this to the last post but Lilli was given a five dollar bill by my mom to pick something out.  She had a BLAST looking at every toy in the store.  Eventually she picked a dump truck for her sand but first we had to convince her she didn't need a key chain with the name "Veronica" on it or a shot glass with an offensive phrase/plant.  Ahh...Panama!

Scarlett is SEVEN months old!

At seven months, Scarlett:
*weighs 16 lb 5.5 ounces (40-45 %ile)
*is 27 inches long (75 %ile)
*sleep is all over the place again.  Her bedtime is not consistent because we are usually out and about, but if we are home she goes to bed around 7:30.  She has been waking 3-4 times a night.  She did do great on vacation, only waking 2 times and sleeping in her Pack N Play.  But now that we are home she is "off" again.
*naps are good - she takes 2 - one around 10 and another around 2.  The first is 35 minutes long and the second can sometimes be 2 hours.  Not very consistent!
*doesn't take a pacifier or use the soother much this month for sleeping.  She usually just falls asleep on her own, on her side.  Part of the problem is that she will roll to her tummy and get mad because she can't roll back over (even though she can, she won't!) so some of the night wakings are due to this.

*nurses 4-5 times a day.  She is still having issues when I have dairy (I see more night wakings and loose stool)  but I have been able to introduce SOME with no blood in her stool, which is good.
*eats solid food and seems to enjoy it.  LOVES to self feed - puffs or Cheerios are fun but apples slices are her favorite.  She also loves avocados!
*has TWO bottom teeth!  Her first (the right) came on May 6 and the left came on May 15.  She was fussy for a week before each tooth but then once it broke through she was happy again!
*said her first word - "Dada" on April 24 and "Momma" on May 11.
*eyes are still very blue and hair is coming in more and more.  She still has a "curl-hawk" at the top that we love!

*wears 6-12 month clothes and size 2 diapers.  We double diaper at night, a Pampers 2 with a Luvs 3 over it and that keeps her dry.
*sits up on her own and reaches for toys.
*started clapping a week or so ago, which is adorable
*has started grabbing Lilli's things - which big sis doesn't always appreciate!
*loved the beach and did GREAT in the car.  She cried some but was generally better than we expected!

Scarlett Jean,
We are in denial that we are getting closer to your 1st birthday than your actual BIRTH day.  You are such a happy girl.  You love to have us talk to you and play with you.  You adore your sister and she adores you.  We are starting to see more interaction between the two of you and it warms our hearts.  I can already tell you girls will be close buddies (with some spats here and there!)  We want time to stand still so we can enjoy you being a baby but we also can't wait to see you grow up!  We love you!

The girls' first trip to the BEACH! Part 1

I typically don't have much time to type so I am going to post photos and a short recap, but we returned from Panama City Beach Florida on Saturday and if I don't share this now it won't get done!

We left after Lilli's Super Soccer Saturday - a day where she had 2 soccer games.  I was not thrilled to wait all day to get on the road (growing up my dad drove through the night) but it actually worked out ok!  The girls slept on and off and we only had to stop a few times.  Once to eat and too many times for Jason to pee, but I gave him a hard enough time about that so I won't post about it here :o)

To get to PCB from our house takes about 10 hours.  We did it in 11, so not bad.  We arrived at 1:30 AM and despite an issue getting into the gated parking garage (they didn't give us the code!) not too many tears were shed!

We were all excited to get into our condo!  We unpacked what we needed for the night and headed to bed - we had church early on Sunday!

Yummy Mother's Day Brunch at Andy's Flour Power.  Beautifully written cards (with tracings of their hands, of course) made me cry, as always.  Jason should write for Hallmark.

Followed by a first sand experience and some photos in matching dresses on the beach -

I had planned for Lilli to take a nap but she was super eager to get back down to the beach.  Can you blame her!?

Scarlett liked it, too!

The day was overcast and cooler, which was fine by us.  That night we headed to Sharky's to eat because it was close to our hotel.  Food was ok but the live music was great! Hit up the grocery store and called it a night!

The next day included more beach time and a trip to ZooWorld.  I had low expectations (we LOVE St. Louis Zoo!) but I was pleasantly surprised!  For one thing, the place was empty so we had plenty of time and space to look at the animals.  Nice shade and a great play area.  We were able to touch the animals in the show and Lilli  had her picture taken with a parrot.  All around good fun!

Here are some favorite pics -

We pushed through nap time so Lilli passed out in the car - while holding her souvenir photograph.  Adorable.

It was too late to head back to rest so we tried an early dinner at The Saltwater Grill.  Oh my it was the best food all week!  I had the beef tenderloin and Jason had Yellowfin Tuna and we both left happy and stuffed.  The early dinner prices made it that much better! :o)

We finished the night with a walk on the pier and some (more!) photos.

The next day included Thomas Donuts
then shopping and playing at Pier Park.

I honestly can't remember where we ate that night - but we had some fun snuggles before bed!
We had a two bedroom condo at Aqua which was wonderful.  Scarlett had her own room and Lilli was able to sleep with us, something she always wants to do.  So Scarlett would go down as soon as we got in but Lilli was able to stay up later.  I wish that would have meant she slept IN later, but no luck there.  Oh well, who wants to sleep their vacation away?!

Posting now so I don't lose this...
