At 15 months, Scarlett:
*weighs 22.4 pounds (60%ile)*is 32.5 inches long (95%ile!!)
She has my exact figure. Poor girl! |
*has curly blond hair and blue eyes
*wears 18 month clothing, size 3 or 4 shoes and size 4 diapers
*walks (started right around Thanksgiving around 13.5 months)
*SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT! This happened all of a sudden when she started walking. I never thought it would happen and hope I'm not jinxing it by putting it out there for everyone to read!
*naps once a day for about 2 hours. Sometimes she will take 2 naps a day but that is if the first one is cut short. She is a good napper and goes to sleep with no help from us
*Talks...alot! She says: Mommy, Daddy, Bray (our cat), PawPaw, up, tick tock, apple, bye bye, hot, hi, moo, meow (and with the correct animal) and lots of things I can't think of right now. She mostly babbles but it seems to be important when she says it. Lately she says "I - uh - ooh" which is her way of saying "I love you" and it is adorable.
*sings! She can hum a tune and loves to. Her favorites are "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Daddy, Daddy, I love you" from church. We hear her singing all the time and can usually pick up what song it is.
*is starting to run even though she doesn't mean to or know what she is doing. She just gets going really fast!
*loves to climb. On chairs. On stools. On couches. On the bed. Then she falls off. Often. She has had more bruises than her sister has in her almost 4 years! We now have to hide the doggie stairs to our bed and Lilli's stairs to her bed because Scarlett can go up them.
This is her trying to get on the floor at Lill's gymnastics class. |
Sweets are a rare treat for her, because she would definitely eat too many at one time! She loves brightly colored fruits and vegetables and will choose those on her plate first. She wants anything we are having and will beg until she gets a piece! We haven't tried seafood or peanut butter but she is doing well with everything else.
*still takes a bottle at night. This is our fault. We hate to take it away from her because we want her to be a baby forever! But she can drink out of a straw and a sippy. She drinks whole milk - about 16 ounces a day or less.
*enjoys bathtime with her sister. She is so easy to bathe - she never cries, despite Lilli dumping tons of water on her head each time.
*LOVES books. She will bring me a book and have me read it to her while she crawls in my lap. At night, she wants Jason to read the same book 3 times (at least!)
*plays with Lilli's toys more than her own. She skipped over baby toys and loves to draw (with her right hand) and play with Lilli's "little guys"
*favors her 2 blankets but doesn't seem to care for any loveys yet. She has a ton that she sleeps with but doesn't prefer any of them over the others. Every morning she throws everything out of the crib and laughs.
*takes a paci, mostly at night and naps. I do give it to her other times but she is getting it less and less. She loves it and it soothes her easily
*is her sister's little shadow. Seriously, these two love each other more than I could have ever imagined!
*started giving hugs. They are few and far between but when she does it is precious. Lilli loves them the most. Other times she fakes you out and just tries to push you down. Stinker!
*is very curious. She is always in our cabinets and loves to drag stuff out. Her favorite play spot is the pantry. She has dumped open containers of grits all over herself and the floor. She loves getting things out of the package/box. She also likes to hide stuff. Again, she's a stinker!
*isn't too interested in cartoons/TV but she does pay attention to "Small Potatoes" on the Disney channel and she seems to like Elmo.
*is such an easy baby. She loves being out and about and is easy to take places, as long as you bring snacks!
*has been sick a few times this winter - she had pink eye in both eyes and had the "gunk" for a while in December. Then just last week I took her back to the doctor and she had a sinus infection. Taking antibiotics for only the 2nd time in her life (1st was the toe.) While sick she has acted great and slept fine, despite a bad cough that keeps ME up!
Since her first birthday we have celebrated Halloween
Thanksgiving
Christmas
She loved them all. She got a baby doll and Winnie the Pooh from Santa as well as some books and clothes and other toys. She was just so happy to climb on the boxes!
